About Spigno
Spigno Monferrato is a small picturesque medieval village situated between the Valla stream and the Bormida river, with a charming church overlooking the village. At the highest point, about 220m high, stands the ruins of what was once a castle. Several hiking trails depart from Spigno, leading you to breathtaking viewpoints. But the pride of Spigno is the 15th-century bridge "Ponte medievale di San Rocco" (Medieval Bridge of San Rocco). This medieval bridge was featured in the Italian film "Il diavolo al Pontelungo" (1982).
Today Spigno has 1,188 inhabitants but from March 2025, two more residents. And last but not least, Spigno has two special restaurants (Il Civico, Al Mattone). Spigno has everything you would expect from an authentic Italian village.
